THEDI was proudly part of a landmark public health outreach on Tuesday 28th July 2026, joining the State AIDS, STIs and Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (SASCP) and NASP to commemorate World Hepatitis Day at the Gombe Correctional Centre. Vulnerability does not disqualify anyone from the right to quality healthcare. Every life, regardless of where it is lived, deserves access, dignity and care.
During the outreach, inmates and correctional staff received health education and sensitization on viral hepatitis, free Hepatitis B and C screening, and Hepatitis B vaccination for eligible participants. They also received counseling, linkage to care and referral for further treatment.
